Recommended use:. ½-1 tsp per cup of boiling water. Let brew for 5-10 minutes and strain before serving. Drink 1-3 cups per day. Herbal colouring: light brown
Iceland moss is a 5-10 cm lichen with brown/olive foliage. It grows on dry soil on moors and between dunes. It is edible but bitter due to its content of lichen acids. It is difficult to reduce or remove the bitter taste. Previously, Iceland moss was used as food in Iceland - hence the name.
Iceland moss may be used for tinctures and herbal tea.
