Birkesød Ice Menthol chewing gum is sugar-free and made with Birkesød which has a minimal impact on your blood sugar. The gum is sweetened with xylitol that has an impact on tooth absorption and use of minerals and helps to neutralise plaque acids in your mouth. The effects are best attained by chewing 2-3 g (2-3 pieces of gum) for 20 minutes at least 3 times per day after meals. In addition, sugar-free chewing gum helps to reduce dryness in your mouth.
Excellent for vegans. Contains sweetener. Excessive use may have a laxative effect.
BirkeSød chewing does not contain aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame potassium or cyclamate. The gum uses BirkeSød xylitol as its sweetener.
Also available with peppermint or spearmint flavour.
The Danish Consumer Council THINK Chemicals has tested a number of chewing gums on the Danish market and examined the content of antioxidants BHA and BHT (E320 and E321), as both substances are under suspicion of being endocrine disruptors. The Birkesød Xylitol chewing gum was included in the test, but naturally no unwanted chemical substances or endocrine disruptors were found.
See the list of chewing gum without chemical substances or endocrine disruptors here.
